When a care team meets, its observations, professional considerations and agreements need to become a useful record. Taking part in the discussion while capturing what was said requires attention.

Validi uses Corti to turn speech from multidisciplinary meetings into text. A separate AI feature then uses that text to draft the meeting notes. A professional reviews, corrects and saves them.

Corti provides speech recognition in this workflow. Preparing the draft notes happens in a separate step. This is a practical use of AI in documentation, with staff retaining responsibility for deciding what the record should say.

From speech to text to meeting notes

A multidisciplinary meeting can bring together several perspectives on a person's care. One member of staff discusses attendance, another shares observations from daily support, and the team considers its next steps. The notes need to capture relevant information and make agreements clear to those following up.

In Validi, the workflow has five steps:

  1. Record the meeting through Validi. Both speech-to-text and AI generation must be enabled for the clinic.
  2. Corti transcribes the speech as the meeting progresses. This text forms the basis for the next stage.
  3. A separate AI feature produces draft notes. Before this step, the text is processed to remove identifying information.
  4. A professional reviews the draft. Staff check and correct the information, wording and agreements.
  5. The professional saves the reviewed notes or discards them. AI makes no professional decisions.

AI-assisted content is marked in Validi and included in the version history, making AI's contribution to the documentation visible.

Vocabulary from your daily work

Medication names and local terminology can be difficult to recognise in speech. Validi therefore supplies its standard medication vocabulary to support speech recognition. Clinics can also maintain their own terminology and word replacement rules in clinic settings.

This allows recognition to be adapted to the language your team uses. The vocabulary supports word recognition; staff still need to check the result. Medication names, doses, numbers and negatives deserve particular attention because a small transcription error can change their meaning.

The meeting feature does not automatically distinguish individual speakers. Where it matters who reported an observation or accepted a task, staff need to check and clarify that information in the notes.

The professional completes the record

Meeting notes should accurately reflect the discussion. If the team considered a possible change, the text must not present it as an agreed decision. Where an action lacks an owner or a deadline, staff need to resolve that before saving the record.

Reviewing therefore involves more than checking spelling. Look for clear distinctions between observations, considerations and decisions. Check that important qualifications remain and that information about different service users has not been combined.

Validi's AI drafts for other documentation tasks follow the same principle of professional review. Read about drafts for Denmark's 12 nursing problem areas, for example.

GDPR and Corti's data processing

Validi entered into a data processing agreement with Corti in July 2026. The agreement covers EU storage and stipulates that the information is not used for model training.

When creating a meeting session with Corti, Validi does not send a patient profile. The speech itself may still contain personal data. Omitting a patient profile therefore does not make the recording anonymous.

When a meeting is saved or discarded, Validi sends a request to delete its session at Corti. Audio retention and actual deletion need to be described according to the specific service and agreement; they cannot be established solely from a setting in Validi.

Customers need to understand the processing involved in the feature they use. The Danish Data Protection Agency explains that a controller's responsibilities include following up on the processor. Read its guidance on roles and responsibilities in Danish.

Corti, Gefion and European AI

On 20 August 2026, Corti and DCAI introduced Corti Models, with Gefion providing infrastructure and Trifork as an early implementation partner. The initial focus is software development. Read Corti's partnership announcement.

The announcement highlights European control over AI and data. The Validi use described here concerns Corti's speech recognition for multidisciplinary meetings. The partnership announcement does not establish where that particular service runs.

Frequently asked questions about Corti in Validi

Does Corti write the final meeting notes?

Corti turns speech into text. A separate AI feature then prepares draft notes after processing intended to remove identifying information. The professional reads, edits and saves the final version. The workflow therefore involves several stages, and professional review is necessary to make sure the notes accurately reflect the discussion and the agreements reached.

Can the system tell who said what?

The meeting feature does not automatically separate speakers. Staff should therefore check that observations are attributed correctly where this matters and that the right person is named as responsible for an agreed action. If responsibilities were unclear during the discussion, the team needs to clarify them. An AI draft cannot resolve that uncertainty on the team's behalf.

Do all of Validi's speech features use Corti?

Validi uses several speech recognition technologies. This article describes Corti's role in multidisciplinary meetings. Conversation mode and uploaded dictation files still use Whisper through Azure. The specific feature therefore determines how speech is processed. During a walkthrough, we can explain these differences and the arrangements that apply to the workflow your service intends to use.

Is meeting information used to train Corti's models?

The data processing agreement with Corti stipulates that the information is not used for model training. Retention, access and deletion are separate matters that also need to be described in the service documentation. Validi sends a deletion request when a meeting is saved or discarded. Contact us to review the contractual arrangements and processing before use.
