Validi features — the journal system module by module
A journal system for social care has to cover nine things if it is to replace the systems and spreadsheets a service typically runs side by side. Below is what Validi contains, and then how the modules answer each of those nine requirements.
What you use every day — in one journal system
Validi is the complete system for care institutions — built from the ground up for Danish addiction treatment, social psychiatry and residential facilities. Not a generic system we tried to adapt.
Client journal & dictation
Write journal notes with full history and search — or dictate with speech-to-text and let AI suggest content based on the client's own data. Incoming SMS messages are automatically logged.
Medication management
Create medication programs, register daily dispensing and PRN medication with direct lookup in medicin.dk's official database. Urine tests and attendance are handled in the same module.
Care plans with AI
Create, edit and follow action plans with goals and scores. The AI suggests interventions based on the client's actual data and drafts status reports and treatment plans. Approval flow, PDF export and a full revision history.
SMS & registration
Send and receive SMS directly in the system — using the clinic's own mobile number, with the whole conversation automatically filed in the individual client's journal. Share a link to a public enrolment form with clients and relatives.
GDPR & audit trail
Sensitive personal data is encrypted in the database. CPR numbers are automatically masked in log files. Generate GDPR data exports with one click. Full audit trail — who did what, when.
Shift planning, time tracking & attendance
Plan staff shifts with drag-and-drop, handle shift swaps and register holidays. Statutory working-time registration is built in: staff clock in and out, and the hours are collected under Time & leave. Client attendance is recorded with one click. Included in the subscription.
HR: staff reviews & workplace assessments
Hold staff development reviews and complete the statutory workplace risk assessment (APV) directly in the system — HR work lives in the same place as the rest of your day. Included in the subscription.
Rooms for residential facilities
Manage rooms and categories and assign each client their place — the overview of who lives where sits in the same system as the journal. Included in the subscription.
Progress & outcome measurement
Track each client's progress automatically with standardised instruments (PHQ-9, AUDIT, SDS) and the data you already record. Validi quietly flags which clients need attention — calculated from real data, not guesswork.
Switching from another system?
We have a purpose-built migration system that moves clients, journals and documents from older journal systems — including Sensum One. You don't start from scratch.
How the modules meet the requirements
The requirements list on our journal systems guide is written supplier-neutral — you can take it to anyone. Here is how Validi answers it, point by point.
Case notes with version history
Full history and search. Speech-to-text for dictation, and incoming SMS is recorded to the case automatically.
Medication management
Prescribing, daily dispensing and as-needed doses with lookups against the Danish medicines reference. Urine samples and attendance in the same module.
Care plans with goals and review
Goals, actions and scores with an approval flow, PDF export and full revision history.
Progress and outcome measurement
Standardised instruments plus the records you are already making. The system quietly flags who needs attention.
Access control and an audit trail
Sensitive data is encrypted, identification numbers are masked in logs, and there is full traceability of who did what and when.
Secure communication
SMS from the service's own number, with the whole exchange recorded to the case. A public referral form for service users and families.
Rotas and time recording
Drag-and-drop scheduling, shift swaps, leave and statutory clock-in — included in the subscription.
Data export in an open format
Free, complete export at any time. The migration engine also brings data in from older systems.
Danish hosting and a data processing agreement
Servers in Denmark and the EU. Identification numbers are encrypted at rest and never sent to external AI services.
What matters most depends on the service
The same modules get used differently. We have written a page on each of the four service types:
